The walk is not difficult
although the pathways can be uneven and rocky in places. It should be possible to take a rugged pushchair. But please note:
1, In one or two places you may have to lift the pushchair over rocks in the path.
2, Part of the walk used roads which do not have a pathway at the road side, so care should be taken if you have young children.
The total length is just over 4.5 miles 7.2 Km
Starting at the turn off to Torre d'en Gaumes on the main son Bou <-> Alaior road, head west along a quiet menorca track for 1.5 Km. Turn right on to the Torre Soli Nou road heading north, for 0.9 Km then take the pathway to your left as you approach red roadside marker posts. The path way leads you through the lovely Menorcan countryside [1.2 Km's] till you reach the ME1 Mao <-> Ciutadella road.
At this point turn right walking beside the road behind the gray crash barrier [300 metres] and take the next turn right down a country lane. Follow the lane in a southerly direction for 500 metres On your left is the entrance to the disused quarry
After the visit keep following the lane in a southerly direction passing disused military barracks and back onto the Alaior <-> Son Bou road approximately 2 Km's It's then around 1.2 Km's back to the start
What to take:
Good walking shoes, sun hat, sun cream, a large bottle of water.
