Pipe on beach

Post by ciaran » July 13th, 2017, 3:34 pm

There seems to be a long pipe in the sea going out to sea, I've heard that's it's to pump the algae away from the beech area, it's not at all intrusive so nothing to worry about,

Not sure about it being an algae pipe. If you look at the topography of CnP, with the populated area being at such a height from sea level there is only one thing likely to travel down that pipe

Never noticed it but will have a look when over next week. Sounds like a sewage pipe though.

That pipe has been there for years and was the cause of the problems when sewage was reported in the bay. It has not been used since the sewage plant was built and there is certainly nothing unpleasant coming out of it! A relic of days a long way past.

The pipe certainly wasn't there when I was in the sea about 4 weeks ago, although there was some algae , this is a new thing, I've tried to load a picture but it keeps coming up as error & won't load.

The pipe I saw years ago was in the sea coming from the apartments side of the cliff, you could see it as you walked along the rocks.
Where is this new one coming from?

I'm going to investigate don't panic! Balaclava is right the pumping station half way up the hill by the road was installed over 10 years ago which totally eradicated any unpleasant deposits in the bay. I guess the solution is first a pic of it and then perhaps I could tie a net round it to establish if it is active? :toasting:

Then if anything is found in there deposit on the patio of the selfish tosser who's installed it..........

The new one is coming from the beech , it's there for the algae, it's not the sewage pipe ,
