New Season - arriving in a couple of weeks :)

Post by SM17 » March 4th, 2019, 7:29 pm

Hi Guys,
Just asking if anyone has any up to date info on what's happening in the village.....
Arriving in a couple of weeks and wondered if anywhere open for coffee/food yet - any gossip from the winter season - just anything really to make me feel back at home!!
Thanks :)

There will be quite a few places open as they do all through the winter as there are lots of permanent residents living there.
I only let him think he's in charge.

I wonder if anything will happen with the old seagram's. When we were over in August it was only open a couple of nights as a pub then it was shut.

I believe that aroma the Indian restaurant is moving into it but could be mistaken. Club menorca has had a bit of a facelift with new decoration and awnings and food pics online look amazing. Ayashe is having a refit as well. So excited for our summer hols wish it was sooner 🤗
Cala n'porter my second home - if I could afford it!

Hi guys,
Just got back to UK on Thursday - bah

Not a great deal open at first. Samoa opened for weekends as did Lorengos and Big Al's…
Supermarket opened Tuesday
Pitos open mornings for coffee/drinks but kitchen closed
New bar Bamalams is open where Aroma used to be - leave it to you as to what you think
Quite a lot of work going on in old Seagrams where Aroma is due to open but no where near as yet....

Very, very quiet as expected for this time of year but we had a great peaceful time

Does not surprise me, as when Dos Pablos took over the old Seagrams a few years back, it took took 6 weeks just cleaning the grease from the kitchen. :vom: :vom:

New bar Bamalams
What sort of Bar/Restaurant is it?

Is there a possibility that some places will open earlier because of the late Easter just before the 1st of May? Sounds like a supermarket has, whichever one it is!

"What sort of Bar/Restaurant is it?"
From my very little experience I thought they are nice people & quite generous with the measures
I've only eaten there on a couple of Fridays & had the 'cod, chips & peas - which I thought was excellent fish both times. :tonqe:

It was the big supermarket as I call it.... the one with the cage in front with beach stuff for kids etc.....

As for the new bar/restaurant like I said I will leave it up to individuals however it would have been nice to have been acknowledged within 10 minutes of arrival  How do you become a regular if you're treated like this - heaven knows when it's busy if this was March!!! Obviously we didn't try the food after that.....
Food in Es Casino was amazing - huge portions and very good service
Back in a couple of weeks for the summer so see what's occurring :toasting:
