Further to Prices in Cala Blanca

Post by glensibs » October 7th, 2011, 12:08 pm

Following on from the email earlier in the year about prices being high in Cala Blanca, boy you ain't seen nothing yet! We normally go to Cala Blanca but decided to have a change this time and have just returned from Binibequer. The prices there are horrendous. 12 euros for a basic pizza marguerita!!!! 5 euros for two tiny, tiny beers!!!! The supermarket prices made those in Cala Blanca seem like Lidl. Never ever again. We arrived on 28 Sept and the place was more or less shut. 2 buses a day, virtually nothing on the supermarket shelves and most of the bars (I say most, there are only a handful anyway) and restaurants closed. We legged it back to Cala Blanca to stay for a few nights just to escape. Better the devil you know than the devil you don't know!!!!

Wow!! That is excessive. These places will price themselves right out of the market if they don't stop and think.

You can still get on of those tiny beers for 1 euro in some places in Es Castell.

I can imagine how much of a ghost town Binibequer must be at the end of the season.

Fraid the prices are to account for the lack of people spending  it wont be long before our visit to Cala Blanca far outweighs the cost of our Florida hol ,its within £400 now and the eating out/drinks just dont compare ,its the quietness/local people/etc that makes Menorca
