Re: Paper Talk - Residencia holders barred from boarding flights
I hope this is just a temporary glitch in the bureaucratic process. This situation has made me realize that somehow I have forgotten what the advantage of leaving the EU was supposed to be. Can anyone refresh my memory??? Day 4 - there was always likely to be the odd glitch. Nine people affected ou...

Paper Talk - Residencia holders barred from boarding flights
Much talk today online and in the press about an incident where a group of expats were refused boarding on a plane in the UK bound for Spain even though they had their green residencia cards. The problem it seems stems from a lack of knowledge from the UK boarding crew as the UK govt and the Spanish...

Re: Properties under threat in the National Park
Is the "two months" deadline for 3 properties, mentioned in the article, from now or from 2038? Anyone know? If the latter is the case, that would cause a lot of disturbance to Winter species that use the S'Albufera. Dave The three month deadline for the initial demolition of three properties is fr...

Re: Properties under threat in the National Park
If you mean the houses on Sabufara (spelling) on the left on the way to Es Grau, friends of ours bought there about twenty years ago and were told this would happen in about thirty years, they since sold it but it was known they would go years ago, where the government will get the money from for s...

Re: Tourist Licence,renting properties
The irony of the situation is in Cala en Porter, there are far more beds in apartments, than there are in hotels! The reason I can’t get a licence at the moment, is because I am on a complex, that has a global licence, from the days when all the apartments were owned by the commercial Company, but ...

Re: Tourist Licence,renting properties
In times like this the govt will inevitably fund measures that enhance the visitor experience and will prioritise enticing hotel guests to the island rather than give consideration to villa owners for the simple reason that occupied hotels provide more jobs than a rented villa or apartment.

Re: Moving to menorca from the UK
A good friend of mine here is also friends with the proprietors of many of the principal property agents on the island. They suggest that the market is very strong at the moment, for all the reasons that Shuggie has already mentioned, but also, demand is strong from France Italy and Germany. What is...
