I use 3 other forums ( not Menorca related) and I find this one is the easiest to navigate.

Yes, maybe a bit more time spent there is needed and to explore the area a little more.

Wasn't overly impressed with Cala'n Porter
. . but travelling around the island we only spent a day there so maybe we didn't give it a chance. What I mean is, it didnt strike us as being as pretty as some other places.
It was ok but there are nicer places.

Talk about cutting your nose to spite your face !!!! , tourism will rapidly decline to Menorca im afraid .

Did anyone see on the news last week about protesters against tourism in Mallorca smashing up rental cars? It was quite alarming wondering if this will spread to Menorca.

Cala Galdana is said to be the gem of the island. It's a small resort with restaurants and bars. Not too noisy. Not sure about shops -- there are the touristy gift shops but I can't recall if there is a supermarket. When we stayed there we used local restaurants so we didn't need to do food shopping.
