Re: Off-Shore Inflatable Thingy

The banana boat was well and truly whizzing along the shore of Son Bou beach when we were there earlier this month, so the killjoys have obviously relented somewhat!

Re: Christmas festivities

There’s always something going on, but generally the ajuntaments don’t publish details until nearer the time. All towns have their own council (ajuntament) website with a diary of events by date (although you may have to use Google translate to work out what’s happening). http://www.alaior.org/agend...

Re: Sad news today

Yes, very sad news. You do have to be careful when driving on Menorca, as many locals walk out onto pedestrian crossings without even looking. I believe pedestrians are given more priority over traffic than in the UK, so we always slow down and keep 'em peeled whenever there's a crossing, beca...

Re: Which resort?????

Hi If you like woods and lovely views I'd recommend somewhere near Cala Galdana, as you can walk along the Cami De Cavalls along the coast/through the woods to Cala Macarella/Macarelleta, Mitjana, Turqueta, which are some of the most picturesque coves on the island (and Galdana is also very pretty t...

Re: IPTV Boxes - are they still a thing?

Hi Corsario We have Sky at home, so used to get all the channels free in Menorca through a satellite dish on the apartment roof, with an old Sky box and viewing card; until the UK satellites died a few years ago  So, it was either try and get the UK folk in our block to club together for a new ...

Re: IPTV Boxes - are they still a thing?

Hi Kieron He did eventually email me with details of the package, after we'd been to Mervi and bought their box. However, the only deal he runs now costs 20 Euros per month, plus 165 Euros for the box, so ultimately we're better off paying 60 Euros for the year, as our holidays quite often cross ove...

Re: IPTV Boxes - are they still a thing?

Just an update on the TV situation. A week went by and Dan hadn't answered my FB message or email, and his website has expired, so I thought he'd 'done one,' as Jeremy Kyle used to say  So we went to the Mervi Sony Centre in Alaior and bought an IPTV box, which gives us about 60 English channel...

Re: IPTV Boxes - are they still a thing?

Hi Keef Do you have Dan's contact details please? I know of the Taylors, but there's no Dan in the family, as far as I'm aware. However, I have contacted someone called Dan Robert Technology on FB, but he hasn't come back to me yet, so not sure if that's the same Dan you know (confusing  ). Any...
